About Community Mindfulness Project
Community Mindfulness Project (CMP) offers free and accessible mindfulness programs to communities in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Their programs are built on equity, inclusion, and a belief that mindfulness tools should be available to all.
When CMP reached out to HeartSpark, their website was overdue for a refresh. Their existing logo and visual identity (created by the brilliant Frank William Miller Junior) was vibrant with loads of energy, but the rest of their brand and website were struggling to keep up—and their Squarespace 7.0 site made updates tricky for their small team.
Building on the Visual Identity
We kept CMP’s original logo, fonts, and colors intact but brought them to life with vibrant new brand shapes and literal “through lines” that visually extend from the logo symbol. These elements add movement and flexibility across the site, keeping the brand fresh and unexpected without losing its core identity.
We also designed a custom icon set that feels like a natural extension of the logo—each one rooted in CMP’s mission, programs, and values.
Since CMP often uses user-generated photography, we created easy-to-use graphic treatments in Canva to add style and cohesion, even when images have low lighting or require identity protection. The result is a brand that feels unique, joyful, and unmistakably CMP.

Squarespace Website Refresh
We upgraded CMP to Squarespace 7.1, restructured the site for a clearer, more intuitive user journey, and expanded on their visual identity with playful new graphic elements.
The result is a fresh, joyful website that makes it easier for people to navigate Community Mindfulness Project’s fantastic programs, access audio resources, and better understand the many ways meditation helps with mental health.
